The flamethrower is laughably weak, I think it needs to be super-amplified in CL2 so that it is actually useable.

Well you cant make all the weapons to be powerful . Some got to be weak . But i wouldnt say the FT is so weak . Its ideal for the first exp . levels i think . If it had infinite ammo it would b pretty cool . ( yeah i know thats not possible )

would it be too restricting if you could only get the low guns at low exp levels, and the best guns and high exp levels?

I think it would allow more strategic development.
Translation: You don't stick to the best gun from the beginning, you have to change guns as you go on, and the game's deeper now.

Got a new weapon idea. I think it would be fun, since it's a little different than the others, but still not ûber strange.
Name: Lightning cannon (why not use it since it doesn't exist) Ammo type: Ion Clip: 1 Reload: 2-4 seconds Special: Radius
It would fire a small ion blast, the size of an ion rifle radius ammo about 2-3 cm in front of the character to the direction the mouse points. It'd be pretty ineffective, like an assault rifle shot. But here's the fun part: It would work like a shock chain, but could also divide. 1 on 1, useless. 1 on a large mob, hell'a killa! Imagine. I think it could be fun. The radius is the same size as the shot, 2-3 cm or so.
What do ya think?

Like an Ion shock cannon? You'd need to really up reload time to balance it out, or something.

Well, I'm not good at balancing, I nearly gave an idea to a great weapon on my opinion. Though, if everyone's great weapons were in that game, that game would have 200.000 weapons and about 6 descent ones among them. But, you're right. It would be Tero's job to balance it =)

Why does everyone come up with one-bullet-per-clip waepons? Why don't you just say clip size 10 and give it a low ROF? Sorry but I don't find it normal!

What about a ball of plasma that just bounces around the screen. Like a shock chain- but no ion zap and it reflects off screen boundries. Runs out when a certain bonus time is reached.

Why does everyone come up with one-bullet-per-clip waepons? Why don't you just say clip size 10 and give it a low ROF? Sorry but I don't find it normal! Mostly because thinking of average weapons is very dull. Suggestions: Name: Nail Gun Ammo Type: Nails.. Clip: 30 Reload: 1.5 seconds Dmg/Round: Same as Assault Rifle ROF: Ditto Hell, it's not special, it's just a nail gun. However, the nails are 9-Inch and they stick in your enemies (2% reduction in speed per nail) I've also noticed that most of the weapons suggested are either extremely weird or re-hashes of original Crimsonland ideas (ie make use of plasma, ion, plague, poison, etc). I'm going to go one further and suggest something extremely banaal: Name: Desert Eagle/Magnum Ammo Type: .50 Cal Rounds Clip: 7 Reload: 2x Pistol Reload Dmg/Round: 2x Gauss Gun RoF: About twice as fast-firing as the Gauss Hey look, a new pistol. If you find this too boring it could always have the ability to penetrate *1* enemy, and would have a huge muzzle flash. Just thought I'd add a few ideas..

If anyone remembers any covenent weapons from halo, there was an overheat. I think the lightning gun should have infinite ammo but if you shoot it for too long it overheats The lightning gun should be like.. 100 ammo (recharges) if it burns out it takes about 4 seconds for a reload. ROF = 600 The gun should either be a spread shot lightning which the shock jumps to one, jumps to another, and another, up to about 10; or a constant lightning beam of penetration-ness. Live and learn - Gain EXP as you take damage (bout 100 exp per 1 hp?). No pain no gain!

Yeah, because a gun that shoots splitting bullets is both logical and realistic as a concept.

I dont think that a splitter gun is realistic . But its DEFINETELY fun . Like most of the weapon in CL . A nail gun doesnt sound so fun . So its unrealistic as far as im concerned.

The Splitter gun should split about 5 times before it dies off.. and then it shouldn't hurt you XD

Yes . But its either was it is now or what you suggesting . And since it split on every hit then it needed to be balanced . So it kills you too . Otherwise it would be a 50m score weapon .

Well then, to me a nail gun sounds as fun as the splitter gun.
And if I understand what you said(A nail gun doesnt sound so fun . So its unrealistic as far as im concerned.), then for you the more fun a gun is, the more realistic it is? Please correct me if I got that wrong.
