well, my com crapped out, so I sent it off to my genius uncle's house to get it fixed and grudgingly, reformatted. basically, the problem was the motherboard, something to do with the BIOS settings, anyway, I've lost everything. Flash, fireworks, crimsonland, my many emoticons and random funny pictures, every single episode of red vs. blue. ARGH, I can get it back, but god dayum! it's going to be boring. Plus, the computer's still screwed, I've got no sound coming through. Anyone suggest why? (the speakers work, and are plugged in/installed) i have an AC97 sound manager installed, which wasn't tehre before, is it incompatible with XP?

woah, that was serious , the BIOS is really important! (dumb affirmative)
unfortunately, I don't know anything about this kind of thing (compatibility), so, good luck!!

does your motherboard host the soundcard you use? if it crapped out before on your bios, it just might have crapped out on your sound card.
