Should we? With a new mod, we'll have things under control even more, and we'll know where they're from. I don't see how it could hurt us. If they start to get out of control, we can simply not let them post.

Yeah, you should just stop them when they start getting out of hand.

I voted yes, I just don't like when people sign on as other people (like they're doing to me at the other forums .) Sometimes it is necessary, as in you cannot log on because of certain issues (school pc, firewall, etc.). Just my two cents .

my point: guest ip adresses should not be hidden; if guest enters his name as one of forum members, he appears as plain guest, and when member with this name logs in he can claim this post as his and edit delete and do what he want with this post. i gues that will not be easiest thing to do, but i hope that Dam will do it in spare time.

Allowing guests makes it easier for people to ask a question without commiting to registration, lets people conveniently "try out" the board before going through the hassle of registering. not havign the option to ask a single question as a guest can turn some people off from a board, but I don't need to tell you the opportunity for exploitation.
the worst of the smackwads on the old boards have gotten bored by now, so I would reccomend allowing guests, just to project an image of hospitality. you can always remove the feature if it's too much to moderate.

Alright, I've changed settings, and guests can now post and create threads on all boards except rules, and suggestions. I'll add a rule telling them not to spam or steal names, unless they're the user whose name they've taken, or something like that

That is the reason guests are no longer allowed to view or post anything. Abusive little motherfuckers.
But I might let them look at it....even though that might be kinda pointless...I dunno

LOL the irony in that example... I think that it would be smart to get a couple new mods, if anything.

Anybody up for it? If you guys think guests should be allowed to post, that's cool, but I'm not cleaning up after that shit again. Not that it took long, or I had anything else to do...and it was cool to go back and read some of the old stuff....
Any volunteers?

Sure, I'll volunteer. For the sake of all the forums I didn't post on because I couldn't bother signing up.

Seriously, if it wasn't open to anybody, then somebody might bitch about it not being fair.
Nick, you got it. Guests can post again, so let the shitstorm begin.
